With over 25 years of experience in wealth management, I have spent most of my career to designing and managing investment solutions tailored to the needs of private investors globally. Before working in finance I was a genetic engineer designing new varieties of barley.

Now, I specialize in financial advice and wealth management, serving a diverse clientele across the UK, Europe, and the Middle East. My approach is rooted in empathy and understanding; I recognize that every client has unique aspirations and challenges. I work collaboratively with my clients to create comprehensive financial plans that align with their goals and values.

I hold the CISI's Certificate in Investment Management and the Diploma for Financial Advisers from the London Institute of Banking and Finance and the European Financial Planners Association (EFPA - Czech Republic) Securities Trader's certificate.

Why this practice exists

The UK financial advice market has a structural problem. The dominant business model — charging a percentage of assets under management — creates an inherent conflict of interest. An adviser who earns more when you invest more has a financial incentive to recommend investing, even when paying down debt, building cash reserves, or simply doing nothing might be better for you. Most advisers are good people working within a flawed structure. But the structure matters.

The clients who suffer most from this are often the most financially capable: the self-directed investor who has built a sensible portfolio and wants an honest second opinion, not a sales pitch; the expat with a UK pension who needs someone who understands both systems and isn't trying to move their money onto a platform; the trustee who needs governance support, not a fund manager trying to win a mandate.

Expat Adviser was built for those clients. The fee model is simple: you pay a fixed fee for the work, and that is the only way we are paid. There are no trail commissions, no platform rebates, no AUM percentages, and no incentive to recommend one product over another.

What we do and don't provide

We are not currently authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority to provide regulated investment advice. The services we provide are analytical and educational — portfolio reviews, cashflow modelling, scenario analysis, tax efficiency commentary, and governance frameworks. We describe what we observe and model what the data shows. We do not tell you to buy or sell specific investments.

Where your situation requires regulated advice — a pension transfer, a specific fund recommendation, a formal suitability report — we will tell you clearly and refer you to an appropriately authorised specialist. We maintain a small panel of regulated advisers and specialists we trust, and we do not take referral fees for those introductions.

We are in the process of obtaining FCA authorisation as an Appointed Representative, which will allow us to add regulated advice services to the proposition. When that changes, this page will say so.
